Europe — Fredericia, Denmark
Twenty megawatts inside one of the most energy-efficient refineries in the world, generating today and currently exported to the grid. We would rather sell it as sovereign compute.
Crossbridge Energy A/S runs the Fredericia refinery, which supplies over 35% of Denmark's liquid fuel needs and is the third most efficient refinery in the world and the most efficient in Europe.
It is also Denmark's largest supplier of surplus heat to district heating. That combination — industrial power, industrial security and an existing heat offtake — is close to the ideal site for a data hall, and it already exists.
What the site brings
| Attribute | Detail | Why it matters to a tenant |
|---|---|---|
| Power | 20 MW available on site, generating today and presently exported to the Danish grid | Redirected to compute, this is capacity available now rather than a queue position |
| Jurisdiction | Danish site, EU member state, operated by the European arm | Processing stays inside the EU under EU law, with an EU-controlled operator |
| Heat recovery | The refinery is already Denmark's largest supplier of surplus heat for district heating | Data hall waste heat has an existing offtake, which is a permitting and ESG advantage rather than a problem |
| Green credentials | The site hosts the HySynergy electrolyser, which has exported green hydrogen to Germany | A credible decarbonisation narrative for European procurement |
| Security | An operating refinery with industrial perimeter security, access control and 24/7 staffing | Physical security is already at industrial standard, not retrofitted |
The European proposition
European customers are not short of GPUs. They are short of GPUs that their legal and compliance functions will approve. Every major alternative is operated by a company headquartered in the United States, and that fact does not change because the disk is in Frankfurt.
Strata's European arm exists to close that gap: an EU site, an EU operating entity, EU-resident control, and a contract governed by EU law. The technical stack is identical to the American one. The legal exposure is not.
This is also why we are not simply reselling capacity. The value is in the combination of an energized European industrial site and an operator that is not reachable through a foreign legal instrument.
The sovereignty claim on this page depends on the European arm being a separately incorporated EU entity with EU-resident control, not a branch of a US parent. That structure is being finalized and will be described precisely here before European customers are onboarded.
